Spring Refresh

It's officially Spring! Here at NWI we're super excited for the warmer weather and longer sunnier days. One thing we're not excited about is the terrible allergy season here in the Bay Area... anyone else? Allergies aside, this week we're sharing some ways to embrace the new season. These tips are meant to be smaller changes around the house that don't involve any huge projects like remodelling. There are endless ways to update your space without spending a fortune or doing anything drastic.

Fresh Flowers and Greenery

Check out your local Saturday farmer's market and grab whatever flowers you're feeling that day. Find a vase, arrange your stems, and place as a centerpiece on a coffee table, kitchen island, or dining table. If you're not into flowers, tree clippings are a great alternative that can really make a statement as well.

Pastel Accents

Shop your favorite retailers to find new spring pieces with pops of pink, blue, and yellow. You can restyle places in your home like the entry, fireplace mantle, nightstands, and bathrooms with fun accents of pastels to liven them up.

Outdoor Furniture

It's time to dust off your patio set and take advantage of the beautiful weather. If your outdoor furniture has been covered or sitting in storage for the winter, it could probably use a good cleaning. Play around with your outdoor styling by adding textured and patterned pillows and throw blankets for those chilly nights by the fire.

Bedding Refresh

Organic Crinkled Percale Sheets from Coyuchi

The warmer weather calls for lighter sheets and blankets. Swap out your thick winter comforter for more lightweight, breathable bedding in percale or linen. If you usually prefer more neutral bedding, try incorporating muted earth tones to switch things up.

Springtime is the best time for deep cleaning the home, getting rid of things that no longer spark joy, and focusing on the pieces that make you happy. Do you have any spring rituals or must-haves for the home? Let us know!
