We cannot believe this week is already over but we are ending it on a good note! Today we are sharing one of my greatest passions within the design arena... Rooms of Hope.
Rooms of Hope is a non-profit with the mission of providing dream room makeovers to children with life-threatening illnesses... From Spiderman to Princess rooms we've done it all!
I am a volunteer room designer with this organization and our goal is to surround these children with love and hope during a very difficult time in their lives. I co-create (with them) the space of their dreams, allowing them to have their own sanctuary... away from all of the medical tests and treatments they must endure at the hospital. These spaces are very personal and are designed to represent the child’s unique personality.
This organization brings hope and joy to seriously ill children as they literally fight for their lives. Most kids don’t attend school while in treatment and spend many days in bed or at the hospital. Not only does Rooms of Hope re-design their rooms, we positively impact the children and their families outlook and attitude during their long medical journey.
Through this wonderful organization I have learned that it's not all about the material items in each space... it’s a blessing, a lifetime gift that Rooms of Hope makes possible.
