The exterior of a home is the first glimpse as visitors arrive, and what passersby will see. Why not make it beautiful? It's important to make all aspects of your home feel inviting, warm, and homey. Naturally, it may feel a little intimidating to take on the exterior.....but we're here to tell you it doesn't have to be! Here are a few simple ways to improve the curb appeal of your home.
#1 Add layers of greenery
Landscape design doesn't have to break the bank! Without going full force and doing the whole front yard, one really great way to make a huge difference is to just add a few layers that follow the path to the front door.
Find a couple tall or full plants to ground the front door, and build from there. Some potted, some planted - some low and full, some tall and branchy....have fun with it!
#2 Update the lighting
We stand by the statement "lighting is key". The style of fixtures, and the quality of the actual light output makes a dramatic difference. Depending on the style of your home, there is sure to be an exterior fixture that will work!
#3 Give it a good pressure wash
I think most people would be surprised what a good pressure wash can do for the outside of their home. There is so much that can build up around the exterior that we either just get used to, or it becomes unnoticeable to the naked eye. It is important to be careful with certain types of siding, as certain materials and paint can be fragile, so it may be best to consult with a professional on the actual exterior structure of the home.
#4 Paint the front and/or garage door
Adding a fun or contrasting color to your front door and/or garage door can immediately elevate the exterior of a home and add a new freshness!

#5 Replace or add a mailbox
This is such a small and easy improvement that can surprisingly add to the curb appeal. Obviously a mail box isn't something that you want to stand out, it can be made into a cute feature of the exterior. Whether it's given a new post, or a fresh coat of paint, it's an instant refresh!
